ISU Spring Game VIII

Transfer QB Matt Gutierrez had a 189 yard effort on 15 of 26 passing with 1 TD and 1 INT in the aptly named Spring Game VIII yesterday. In front of a crowd of 1,140, the offense squeaked by the defense in a narrow 16-12 victory. There was no mention of the top two returning running backs, Josh Barnett and Ken Cornist. Backup QB Luke Butler led all rushers with 45 yards (47 on one play). Gutierrez's INT was the only turnover of the afternoon. ISU's quarterbacks went 20-for-37 on the day combined, and the offense gained 323 yards on 62 plays.

Another good article on the scrimmage can be found here.

There were 1,440 people at the game, not 1,140. ISU is gonna roll this year!

Just going off what was reported on the athletics site.

But I agree, ISU has the potential to be scary good this year.

Where were Barnett and Cornist, though? Sitting out?
