Idaho State Names New President

Dr. Arthur Vailas was named President of Idaho State University today. Since news surrounding Big Sky football is non-existent at this time, I thought I'd mention it.

This is one of those news items most people will scan over, but it's going to mean BIG things for ISU! Most of the athletic program's problems can be traced to poor leadership, and that started from the top (ex-president Bowen made it no secret he wasn't a fan of college athletics). Now ISU has a president who will not only lead the way towards more research dollars and a medical school, but will see the importance a strong athletic program can bring to the university as a whole (being a former college football player himself).

Seriously, this is MAJOR news for ISU!

I agree completely. ISU had problems, and those problems were putting a major damper on athletics. A change was needed, and from reading Vailas' background, he sounds like a great fit for the Bengals. Grats!
